Introduction
These Terms of Service govern access to and use of the Professional Chaplaincy Institute platform. By creating an account, accessing or using any of our services, you declare that you have read, understood and accepted these terms in their entirety. If you disagree with any provision, we ask that you do not use the platform.
Description of services
The platform offers a comprehensive ecosystem for the training and certification of professional chaplains that includes: training courses with video content, downloadable materials and assessments; completion certificates with a public validation system; digital professional credentials; a public chaplain directory with verification statuses; an educational resource library; community discussion forums; an institutional code of ethics with a formal acceptance process; a confidential complaints channel; and subscription and access plan management.
Registration and accounts
To access platform services, you must create an account providing truthful and up-to-date information. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your access credentials and for all activities carried out under your account. If you detect unauthorized use, you must notify us immediately. We reserve the right to suspend or disable accounts that violate these terms. If you request account deletion, it will be deactivated from our systems.
Subscriptions and payments
Some content and features of the platform require a paid subscription. Subscriptions are processed monthly through our authorized payment processor, renew automatically and can be canceled at any time from your user dashboard. Certain chaplains may have full access at no cost depending on their affiliation with the institute. In case of cancellation or non-payment, you will retain certificates already obtained but will lose access to paid content.
Intellectual property
All content available on the platform, including but not limited to videos, texts, educational materials, designs, logos and downloadable resources, is the property of the Professional Chaplaincy Institute or its respective licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Reproduction, distribution, modification or sharing of any paid platform content with third parties without express written authorization is strictly prohibited.
User conduct
By using the platform you agree to: maintain respectful behavior in all interaction spaces, including forums and communication channels; comply with the institute's code of ethics; not share, redistribute or commercialize restricted-access content; provide truthful information in your profile and documentation; and not use the platform for illegal purposes or in bad faith. Violation of these rules may result in temporary suspension or permanent disabling of your account, at the institute's discretion.
Certificates and credentials
Certificates are issued upon meeting the academic requirements established for each training program. Each certificate has a unique code that allows its public verification without requiring login. Certificates and professional credentials are strictly personal and non-transferable. Any attempt to forge, alter or misuse certificates or credentials may result in their revocation and corresponding legal action.
Complaints channel
The platform has a confidential channel for submitting complaints related to conduct that contravenes the code of ethics or institute regulations. Complaints require verifiable identification of the complainant and are handled with strict confidentiality. The complainant's identity will not be disclosed to the accused party unless required by applicable law. The institute reserves the right to investigate and take whatever measures it deems appropriate.
Limitation of liability
The Professional Chaplaincy Institute shall not be liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the platform. We strive to maintain continuous service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The educational content offered is for training purposes and does not constitute professional advice nor replace in-person training when required.
Modifications
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Significant changes will be notified to registered users by email with reasonable advance notice. Continued use of the platform after the modifications take effect constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
